Night Train to Mombassa

Animal Migration

It is a hot, dry day in the African plains, and the animals are preparing themselves for their annual migration.  They must venture many miles and face many hardships to find food, water, and shelter.  Every year, the elders in a village in Kenya host a drum circle to honor and offer protection for a safe journey for the animals.

Something has gone wrong this year.  The key pieces needed for their drumming circle are missing!  The elders are troubled. How will they ensure the safety of the animals?  The migration is about to begin, and the elders seek those who are true of heart to find their missing items and deliver them to their village near Mombassa before the clock strikes midnight.  The elders seek the campers of Camp Meridian.

Can the campers trace the journey of the animal migration to find the missing pieces?  What will they discover along the way?  Will they be able to help the animals?  We will find out in October, 2010!  All activities are cooperative, scaled to accommodate varying physical abilities, and encourage group participation and team building.  Fun, friendship, and a sense of accomplishment await!
